If your fixture is attached to the siding or brick wall of your house cover the area with enough masking paper to protect the surface.
Spray painted wall light.
Then i taped on scrap paper and brown paper bags around the lights.
The coat should be even and light unlike painting in which you apply one or two heavy coats.

First i headed to walmart for my light bulbs and spray paint.

Diane got just the look she wanted with an inexpensive metal fixture from lowes and a can of spray paint.
If you want to paint the fixture without removing it from its location you must mask around the fixture to protect adjacent surfaces from paint spray.

Use short quick light strokes so you don t blunt one area of the wall.

Dip a terry cloth or brush into the faux glaze paint mixture and begin to paint over the wall.

The trick is to color wash the wall rather than actually paint it.

You don t want to get spray paint on your wall it s oil based and that wont work if you need to paint over it with latex.
